About Me

Hi, I am Lacinda Coughlan, and I am honored to be with you on your journey to accessing your full potential.

I have spent most of my life exploring what I was capable of and seeking new ways to access my full potential. During various times of challenge in my life I received some form of the advice “mind over matter” from others, but it never felt like the ultimate source of strength or resilience for me. Whether it was interpersonal conflict, high pressure work environments, living in hostile and dangerous environments, undiagnosable medical emergencies, or training for endurance athletics, I knew that I needed more than my mind to be my best and reach the level of success I desired and felt was possible. At that time, I did not call it somatics, but I held an understanding and appreciation that what my body was saying in response to my environment and experiences was important. The missing piece was using that information to show up in the world as my whole self. So, I began an amazing exploration to break the code and learn how to do just that. That journey, combined with my hunger to continue exploring ways I could access my full potential, ultimately resulted in me becoming a somatic coach and bodyworker. Life has offered me a rich tapestry of experiences and opportunities and I have used those to continue developing aliveness and resilience on my journey to accessing my full potential. It has been an amazing journey that I would not trade or edit, and as a coach, I thoughtfully pull from the full depth of my experiences in our journey of honoring your experiences and extension towards your full potential.

LINEAGE OF MY COACHING JOURNEY: I am fortunate and deeply honored to serve as a Somatic Coach. I received my Somatic and ICF Coach certifications and Somatic Bodywork Certificate from Strozzi Institute. I am also a Yoga Alliance 200 hr certified instructor. My educational and work experience includes the following that further contribute to my life experiences and informs my approach to coaching the whole person: a Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from DePaul University, a M.S. in Community Counseling from Columbus State University, and a B.A. in Psychology with an honor’s thesis in Neuroscience from Indiana University Bloomington. I also worked for 12 years in the federal government, serving both domestically and abroad.
